Aside from the experience that biking through Vietnam brings, having the use of some wheels once you arrive at a destination is a huge asset. It's a real benefit having the freedom to go anywhere at anytime. My first day trip took me to Pongour waterfall. It's located about 50km from town. It took me a while to find it and i'm so glad i've learnt to say "i'm going to ....." in Vietnamese. The asking of ...

So, one last day in Dalat before we head on to pastures new. All nakerd from the canyoning yesterday so a much needed lie in is in order, even if it is on a 2 inch matress on the floor. Have probably my best breakfast since I've been away yet at the Chocolate Restaurant (it was eggs and bacon, not chocolate) and then we head on ...

... Eventually we made it to the top of Peak one, the view of Dalat was worth the hard work. The second peak was pretty easy and only took us 30 minutes to reach... then for the big one. The first section was relatively easy as it wasn't too steep and we were still in the pines. But the last kilometre was hell as it turned to hot humid jungle and the ground turned wet and muddy. It didnt get any easier as the last 500 meters were near vertical, we had to make our ...

      Day 6

Hoan wanted to check in on an elderly friend of his and invited us to come meet her. Apparently she is 106 years old and 5 months ago died in her sleep but woke up fit as a fiddle the next day. Willam had a phrase in Dutch for this 'broodan aap' which roughly translates as ********. She was a very nice old lady, but we kept our distance as she admitted she hadn't showered since she died and has an itchy head due to having headlice.
