... itself was less than appealing on the eye, the cuisine was in fact quite tasty. The drivers engaged in light, friendly banter with us and the lady who owned the restaurant, a mammy-like figure, began plaiting our hair. After we said goodbye to our Vietnamese mammy, we made our way through Danang with another pit stop at China beach. Six hours later, feeling tired and motorcycled out, the five Hells Angels and their entourage finally arrived to Hoi An. Mission ...

... the bus, leaving around 7pm (eventually!) and changing bus at 7am meant we managed to get a reasonable amount of sleep in also. After breakfast we had a shorter four hour mini bus ride, which was actually quite nice - a friendly bus driver and stunning scenery. We arrived in Dalat about midday, quickly grabbed some cheap lunch before a small hike to our hostel. Having trusted Gemma's booking skills, I had no clue what the hostel would be like. First appearances ...

... How very kind of them. Mad though. We eventually arrived in Dalat at made our way to 'Mr Peace hostel'. We already heard he was a bit of a character and he greeted everyone with a hug. His wife was called Mrs Strawberry, if today couldn't get any more odd. We checked in and played a bit of pool next door in a surprising good billiards club no dodgy, un-level tables to be found there. We also discovered the best bakery on Vietnam, if not the world. So cheap ...

... the middle of Da Lat and then made a trek to find a supermarket....wild night out! The following morning we checked out and walked back into town to spend the morning on swan pedalos on the lake! It was good fun, for the first five minutes and then it turned into a bit off a work out! But we got our hours worth and then found a cafe to have some lunch before going back to our hostel to get our bus to Ho Chi Minh City.

    Ta ta for now!

... for her. We hurry by as the realisation of what is happening sinks in! This is insane and saddening. We find a lovely bar where we sit on a roof garden watching people pass below. As we leave there are lots of sign posts inside the restaurant showing various locations in the world and one says Bristol, England! I try to explain to the waitress that that is where we are from and she does not seem to understand, but smiles in the beautiful way that Vietnamese do. What a lovely ...
