... Sebastian's where we could find tombstones dates back to the early 1700's - WOW! We then head to the Franciscan Monastery (yep, there's still a few monks there leading the flock). From there, we were able to see the Church of St. Magnus and the High Castle (this was the former residence of the Bishops of Augsburg). We took a quick turn here, and interestingly, ended up finding the End of the Romantic Road (a beautiful stretch of Bavaria between Frankfurt and Munich ...

... and focus on the arts. What Ludwig could do very well was dream of castles fashioned in the Medieval style, decide to build them and then spent A LOT of Bavaria's money building them. He dreamt of building three castles during his 22 year reign, and managed to get Linderhof build (did not visit), Neushwanstein built but not finished and one other not even started!

... strudel. Just the icing on the cake. A wonderful day was spent & back to our hotel. Dinner was independent tonight so we found a lovely Indian restaurant next to our hotel. Vespers & best meal since I left home. And Greg had a lamb dish & I had a chicken one. A lovely walk through one of the gardens before retiring & walking off our tea completed a wonderful day. Today is the day I've been waiting for this whole trip! We visited Schwangau and saw two amazing castles: Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. These are two of the biggest tourist attractions in all of Germany. We left Salzburg just after 8 a.m. We had about a three-hour drive to Füssen, the site of tonight's hotel, and we wanted to get parked in Füssen and catch a bus to Schwangau.
