On the bus this morning at 8am for the trip from Passau to Salzburg. Weather forecast was not good and it started raining soon after we left the ship. Also a traffic jam on the autobahn, apparently from roadworks, so we took the backroads which was very pretty. Eva, our guide was a bit annoying. She laughed at everything and thought herself very funny. Arrived at Salzburg at about 11.30. Went to the place where the gazebo from the S of M is located. It's not ...

... rough in parts. Overall it is the best path that we have travelled on in this trip.

We followed the river, past industrial areas and them into agricultural areas. Corn, potatoes, wheat and kale are the popular crops. We made it back to the river - reassuring as that is when ...

Ahh a quaint town to have a chill, Erfeding! A beautiful town square with cobbled ground, we mosey around while the large clock tower watches over us viewing his kingdom. ...

... villages and admired locals going about their simple lives. Schlogen is to the people of Linz what Rotto is to Perth-ites. It is so picturesque.. So green, so tranquil. Our first night in our tent and a thunderstorm finds us :) we weren't sure if our tent was waterproof- thank goodness it is! We camped beside a little lake which sounded like it was home to Austria's entire duck population! Em ...

... just choose what you want from the breakfast buffet (there's always cold meats, cheese, cucumber etc, and bread rolls, pastries, fruit, muesli bars. Plus you can always buy things along the way if you need to. We found our bikes and got on our way. We were some of the first to leave. We cycled with a few Americans who were lovely. Ken, Barb and Kerin. Seasoned cyclists though. My bike seat isn't great. ...
