Day 2 on our bikes. The ducks wake us up bright and early. We begin our ride stopping very quickly at an adorable Gasthof for a warm cup of kaffee while waiting for the ferry which didn't arrive! The sweet Austrian lady did try to tell us something... It must have been that the ferry is no longer running! So we continue on the left bank, hoping the terrain remains flat. Riding along past fisherman, tiny little villages and strawberry farms, even an old hippie, ...

Ahh the tranquil Danube valley, the sun burns my scalp while the alpines provide shady refuge, a wonderful feeling of serenity and freedom. Waking up to the ghostly valley the feeling is quite mystical, clouds placed between the ...

A beautiful cool crisp clean-air day, spring leaves, flat paths, minimal effort, cute villages, the occasional castle, the whole day was a dream. But the day was ...

Of course we were up at the crack of dawn, getting ready for our first big cycle day. It's pretty daunting for me with the distance. I don't do very much cycling (or anything else for that matter). Cheryl does her exercise bike every day and has done for 15 years so she's a lot fitter and stronger than me. She'll be fine. Anyway, we had breakfast and packed our lunch for the day. It's very well ...

... banks, fishing sun baking, yes you read it, sun baking! Some were having a Bbq, but just over an open fire with a small grill. Lots were out riding their bikes. I also rode into the old town and had fun exploring on my own. I felt very safe riding around. Then Geoff and I went for an evening stroll before the boat sailed just before 7 pm. We saw priests enter a church they were about to give mass, I took a peak inside the door and it was a lovely church. We are now on our way to ...
