We arrived at Dan and Andrea's place yesterday around noon and enjoyed a nice lunch of soup and an Italian pizza at the local (and newly renovated) Italian restaurant a short walk away. We pick up the travel blog having said farewell to Patty and Bob in Amsterdam and following a nice walk in Rembrandt Park by the hotel on Monday morning, we were picked up by our dear Dutch friend of 42 years - Puck and Ben Roncken who served in Moose Jaw in the early 70's where Ben was an exchange instructor pilot. They took us to their home in Roermond where we spent a very enjoyable and relaxing day and a half.

We packed up and left about 10.30am, nice and sunny and
quiet roads still a bit up and down for a while. We passed a Lidl, so stopped
to get a few more provisions, then onward via Aachen, on to main roads, in to
Belgium for about 10 minutes, back in to Germany for a while and finally in to
Holland. The roads there are a lot better, but ...
... me up. Within seconds I was on the stage next to the guitarist weather I was into the idea or not and Ruben was cry laughing at my display of awkwardness. In the end it was quite nice to be in their presence I mean who can say they have been on stage with Uriah Heep right? All the band members were exceptionally nice and seemed to enjoy the company.
It was one of the best nights of my life! Thank you so much for your company Ruben you made it even more special. I love you.
