Hans and Anka picked up us at the hotel about 9:30. We went to visit the parents of Anka and Nieske. Their mother Gepke and Joel's father John were cousins. Their mothers were sisters. John's mother Bertha was the only one in her family to emigrate to the U.S. In 1910 after marrying Joe Kooistra.

... up camp we took our bikes for a short ride down to the dyke to look at the sea. The sea is very flat and very shallow. The rocks were covered in small mussels and close to the harbor there were oyster beds with huge oysters. The area is a holiday destination and is fantastic for sailing, kite boarding, cycling, bird watching and hiking.
