The room at La Jolla was also great as it was actually more of an apartment than a room so we had lots of space as well as a lovely deck that looked out over the pool and the sea. The day dawned blue-sky beautiful in Amsterdam. Today was the day for a canal cruise! Amsterdam has hop-on, hop-off canal buses, and I bought an all-day ticket and was on the first round at 10am. ... supermarket, then to Fondel park to lie in the sun all afternoon. We met up with one of Kristina's friends, Yanas, a Greek guy she did an internship with. Nice guy, but hasn't been able to find a job since August, so he's going back to Greece in a few weeks :( it quite sad about the economic status in Europe at the moment, especially for young people.
