          ... and huge windows, it has a very modern kitchen and bathroom and nice new wood floors. Being Dutch it does have the stairs issue! Their apartment is on the second floor and you need to climb up a very steep and winding staircase that reminds you of a lighthouse to get to it.           In short this has been a wonderful trip and one that has more than exceeded our (high) expectations. We did a big trip to America last year which we called 'the holiday of a lifetime'.....but as good as that trip was this one trumped that trip by a long way. America was well known to us in terms of language, food and culture, whereas Brazil was something very new to us on all those fronts.           ... b used one of our numbered travel days. On our three hour trip from Brussels to Amsterdam we never had our tickets checked! So we didn't use a travel day because they never marked it down on our ticket. The same thing happened from Paris to Brussels, where we paid the v reservation fee and had our passes validated, but nothing was written down....So at this rate we may be b traveling Europe without any help from our pass, which makes me question the value n of b ...
