      ... that they gave a little history lesson at the mills, too. Seems that during WWII, the position of the arms on the windmill sent a message to the Resistance fighters. If the arms were set a certain way, they'd know it was safe to move people. If they were the other way, stay hidden. Even today, the position of the arms signal things like births, deaths, and other milestones. Never knew that!

      Fine and sunny 19-29deg, 30km, av. 12.5km/h, tot. 1782km. Another short day in the saddle; we are winding down to the finish. And another nice day weather wise.       ... Italian food places, though Michael says they may not all be Italian run. As we neared the city we saw more native Dutch people, and lots of cyclists. It's hard to remember to give way to them when crossing the streets. The bike paths are paved in red so you know. The traffic is nowhere near as congested as in other cities, suppose because of the amount of bikes used. We passed a big mall where there are markets tomorrow so we might go back there then.
