... glance. A taxi approached us and rather than attempt to lure us in to taking a tour of the city with him, we could see he had a car full. He wound his window down and without completely coming to a stop, shouted something in Portuguese of which one word was definitely ‘favela’!! We could have probably guessed the rest of the sentence. Something like ‘Are you effing crazy!!??’ Although the lighthouse was only a few hundred yards away, we would ...

... I needed to be – the LP map shows the airport to be 6km away
but took over an hour, standing up the whole way.

Was hot (in my jeans) and tired, despite my kilo of buffet

New place new friends. Fortaleza was cool because right when I got there we went out. Some Chileans brought a big bottle of pisco and before you know it we all were riding happy on the way to pink elephant. It's a popular expensive night club they have here in Brazil. Anyways the next several days it was pretty much the same. Fortaleza to me seems a little rough and unsafe. I'll admit I had a good time here and my portuguese is getting ...

... to the queue. It made for some conversation on the bus with a bunch of Canadian fans anyways... That evening we headed out to a place recommended as good food. As did most other people in Fortaleza it seems. So moving on we found a pizzeria and snagged a table after waiting a few minutes that people had left and the waiters had still to clean and meant we weren't shoved to the back of the queue! A bit of food, no beer and bed. Done. The next day we met ...
