We got an evening flight, so the first entry is a bit misleading. Our friend K was so kind to take us to the airport. Normally I take my car to the station and leave it there, but my 24/7 subscription was revoked and while they are addressing the issue I figured to take a cab. When I mentioned this to K he immediately insisted taking us to the station. Which is so incredibly kind and a great way to start our trip. I'm excited to go. It's really a bit of an adventure. ...
It was supremely wonderful having Evan all to myself over the weekend. Saturday morning, we had ourselves a late breakfast at a pastry shop (bear claws, croissants, & hard boiled eggs). After a 6 hour journey we arrived in Utrecht, a university city just south of Amsterdam. As it was coming up to 7pm by this point our only concern was booking a hostel to stay at, and so we found ourselves an Internet cafe from where we managed to sort something out. After a little issue with the map reading and a run in with hoards of cyclists we arrived at the hostel knackered but keen to explore. As it turned out the hostel wasn't exactly the cleanest of places ...
