... now there will be very little photos of the city but we will charge Diane’s battery every night now and take all our photos with it. Zagreb is spread out over a large area with most of the streets being wide and not very much traffic well at least on Sunday will know tomorrow when I pick the car up from the city at 9am. We caught a funicular which has been in operation since 1890 and is only 216ft long probably the shortest one around up to where St Mary’s church is. ...

After three days in Croatia hiking, biking and boating in the 95 degree heat with 6 hours of sleep a night, all sorts of things began to happen.

Marcia broke her toe slipping on the sailboat, I couldn't sit down after the bike ride (I evidently didn't get the same fitting that our guide did -- she told me about going to Italy and having some guy take 7 measurements of her rear end before custom making her bike seat) and, ...

Today, was yet another early start, as we had to get to the train station for 8am. This is about a 15 minute walk from where we were staying, and we were actually very glad of the early morning as it meant it hadn't had time to get too hot, and made the walk much more bearable. It took me forever to wake up this morning, and I could have more than happily stayed in bed all day, but forced myself up and got ready.

... showers a day, sweating to death at night (despite open windows and oscillating fans) soon becomes rather tiresome. We took refuge until early evening when the temperature had dropped to a more manageable 24 degrees (!!) to sample a restaurant called Nocturno, recommended by Ana, our lovely hostel host.
