    ... the present president is ruling things have changed. The country stabilized and the economy is getting better. One great example of the things I don't like about this government is that they made being gay illegal. I consider it to be a step the wrong direction for human rights. But still the country is considerably more stable than neighboring countries.

    ... we were Canadian and were very gracious and thankful. Met a really nice couple that shared stories from when Holland was Liberated, she said that when Canadian Seaforth Army arrived they were so hungry, at that time she was six years old. She said the Canadian troupes set up tents in her families backyard and made them bread and gave them chocolate, she still remembers that bread to be the best bread ...

    ... a room right in the heart of the town. The streets are all cobble stone and the Main Street where we are staying allows no vehicles, just BIKES and walking people and did I mention BIKES! There are parking lots for bikes at train stations the size of a football field and they are filled with bikes. Such a quiet and relaxed pace here, compared to England.     ... with bacon and wild mushrooms. The mushrooms are a local treat that I have been meaning to have on other trips. They are tiny golden ones but to my mind not a lot of flavour. The meal however was very good in the comfortable dining room with stained glass windows. The hotel was full and the restaurant busy, a local tourist trade in our age group. A very good sleep.
