... sunrise at Bagan. Mandalay definitely demands more of my time also to visit some of the ancient cities in the environs. Thailand I would love to return to travel overland and by sea to the different islands and to do more diving in the South. But for now it's the final leg home to Manchester after a reasonable night sleep in Abu Dhabi and a very brief view into what is truly a perfect city. Even the palm tress look like they have ...

I am curious about the bathroom etiquette. First toilet I visited had no toilet paper or hand towels and many users walked out without washing their hands at the basin. I did note the hose in each toilet but am not sure I heard them being used, the second toilet block I used and continued to use had 2 cleaners permanently located in the toilets cleaning the cubicle after each use. They also directed users ...

... a bit of an indirect route via the Abu Dhabi mall. On the way I think we passed through enough of Abu Dhabi for us both to realise this was not a beautiful city with anything to offer us beyond our 2 night stay. The streets were wide and traffic was busy, the occasional green area punctuated the dusty building sites, high rises pushing upwards trying to catch up with Dubai. We arrived at the marina mall and again were taken back by the sheer heat of the day, which tipped ...
