    ... It was like when someone tries to wake you and REALLY shakes your body around- I couldn't sleep through that. They kept making announcements in Arabic. I don't speak Arabic. But I figured as long as their announcements didn't end with 'Allah Akbar', then we were still ok.     Arrived at around 6.30am local time in Abu Dhabi. Flying in was like flying into another world - there was construction everywhere and sand as far as you could see. Flashing lights were dotted throughout the mass of construction. I couldn't see any of the tower like hotel buildings just the flight control tower which is of similar design to the amazing tower buildings.
    I was stunned by the lack of vegetation and all the haze from the construction. The buildings ...

    ... Jillian took it and then regretted it - it was no Ferrari! We kayaked over to the mangroves and the guide told us about them. The most fascinating thing was that the sticks that surround the mangroves are actually their roots. He also told us about hyacinths (the flower), but we didn't see any.
