... top overlooking the caldera. And this is what it is all about. The towns are pretty special – very picturesque. The two main towns of Fira and Oia stretch along the cliff face about a km each and tumble down the face facing the sea for quite a few meters – well until it is impossible to build although some might say that where they have build is impossible so who knows. The buildings don’t stretch inland very ...

... every home to produce a patch of 'vinsanto' wine each year, not a bad tradition I say. The island is quite dry with little rain fall which makes it appear difficult to grow grapes successfully however it is from the porous volcanic rocks which retain moisture that assists in their growth. Another reason is that the evaporated salt water floating across the island in the late evening that gives the fruit added moisture and ...

... It felt just like bubbles from jets but sometimes ticklish.

After fish pedicures, we went to a frozen yoghurt place called Chill Box, recommended by one of Holly's friends. There is truly nothing better than frozen GREEK yoghurt! They had natural yoghurt or vanilla yoghurt (or a mix of the two - delicious!) then you added any toppings you wanted. My favuorite toppings were pineapple, mango, strawberries, brownies, and hazelnut sauce.

    After walking ...
