An early start for us today as we had a 10.30 flight from Athens to Fira on the Greek Island of Santorini. Packing was already done the night before (because Susan is an organised person!) so all we had to do was have brekky and walk up to the bus. Richard managed a small breakfast as he was feeling a bit better today, and then on the way to the bus Sue had to take some sneak pictures of the armed SWAT police outside our motel who were guarding ...

There was even a Pandora store so I picked up a charm for my bracelet. Eventually we wanted lunch so we found a tiny gyros restaurant with seating in a garden/back alley. ... all recognised us. Then we went back to the Tropical Bar to watch the volcano fireworks. We had the best table in the place, and met a few more Aussies. The fireworks were to mark the anniversary of the volcano erupting, and they were designed to resemble a real explosion. They were amazing! Afterwards, we paid another visit to a few of the same clubs from the night before, and all the door boys recognised us. None of us were keen to back up again, so we were home and tucked up in ...

... leave our bags and go exploring. Before we left however, our host Petros provided us with coffee, jam filled Tarta, and apricots from his own tree. Fira was very quiet at that time of the morning, very few guests were awake and the shopkeepers were just starting to open their shops. We didn't realise what a contrast there would be in a couple of hours when 2 cruise ships arrived and the place became a hubbub of ...
