Today several Trussell Trust staff and volunteers have bruised upper arms from loading hundreds of boxes filled with a reocrd breaking 3800+ Christmas Shoeboxes onto a rather large lorry... The bruises were worth it to see the lorry pull away and begin its 2,450km trip to Bulgaria to transform thousands of Christmases.
We have to say a huge thankyou to all those who donated boxes and to all those hardy souls who braved the cold in ...
Booked flight today - Guatemala on Feb 22nd 2010. So to mark the occasion I thought I'd start my travel diary today as well.
Two months to go - and a lot of list-making, planning, shopping, getting vaccinated, freaking out, and bouncing with excitement to do!

Bournemouth has a very funny layout.. the two main streets of the town go up both sides of the hills that lead down to the park and eventually to the famous Pier.
I was a bit down in the dumps this day.. I think because I was watching all the families and couples having some fun. It was mid term break so there were heaps of kids around and the entrance to the Pier was packed with amusements and ...
... it was a lovely evening, more cider if I remember rightly. I found out about what my brother Phil got up to while he was staying with them back in 1987!!! Apparently spunky is a rude word for something else in England!! And he frightened poor Frank one night by sliding his car across the gravel out the front of one of the pubs!!!
I definitely have to go back to the New Forest.. if not for the great people but the great outdoor life you can live there.
... instead.. lol. I still can't get over that they don't have huge shopping centres, everyone still has to walk between shops in the wet!
While I was there I had to work out how I was going to get from the railway to the catch the bus to the New Forest. My next port of call!
Southampton is also famous, well in the olden days ...
... unavailable at home, in almost every shop. Rabbit and hare, mutton, horse, tripe and all kinds of game birds. As a horse owner I have no qualms about eating horseflesh as long as it isn't someone I know! In the greengrocer we joined a long queue of locals, but it was an enjoyable experience. The shop was full of gorgeous things, and everything was displayed beautifully. As things were sold, the shopkeepers would disappear out the back and return with ...

There were also postings about expectations for behavior in the classroom placed prominently throughout campus (e.g., don't arrive late, turn off cell phones, be respectful). I also noticed that some of them noted successful performance on some critical examinations. We stopped by the Student Advice center (the equivalent of our tutoring area the CFC library) and found it quite interesting to learn that all students are assigned a ...
Bournemouth, United Kingdom vanwie... my trip home in my new rental car, I had achieved about 4 miles and 6 separate pieces of abuse. After getting lost and thinking about just cutting through Hyde Park, my place of residence appeared. Home sweet home! Now were do I park the ******n thing??? Why was I doing this? But where there is a reason there is a way. Next morning with mild hangovers free of charge, Sophie (housemate) and Emily (Sophie's Sister) we had a drunken spontaneous idea to head down to the ...
