... I David was with a groups of three Canadian women who were quite entertaining. They had an informative guide who gave lots of information (often a repeat of what has been seen before, but with a local flavour added to it). We saw the mouth of the first gorge (the scene is depicted on the CYN10 note) and climbed the 300 steps. There were a number of men with sedan chairs carrying some people up the steps - quite amusing to watch. Our ...

Not a lot to say about Wuhan really. Another big city in China - home to about 5 million. It's on the Yangtze and its a BIG river here. Must be at least one km across, maybe more. Lots of river traffic. And quite a few BIG bridges. The Chinese certainly know how to build bridges. The Yellow Crane Park, and the Yellow Crane tower, is probably the main ...

... only $40, very far, only private cars, no taxis". Yeah right. Finally I figured that if I walked up the hill from the dock to the main road I could catch a bus to the city and then get a taxi for $2 to the station. So, as soon as we docked, I was off to get my bus and taxi to catch the train at 5.30pm (I had 3 hours). Then I got lucky. Whilst waiting for the bus a local told me he was also going into town on the ...
