Golden Sands Hotel - Barbados Maxwell

Barbados was great (we stayed in Holetown) &#8211; fabulous weather, a fully equipped apartment near the shops, bars and restaurants, in a great location with beach frontage.<br><br>We ate well, slept a lot, lay on the white sand beach, swam and snorkelled and went to the Cropover festival. ... his hardest to get me on a plane, however my not acting fast enough led to a very good ticket for $500US slipping away. So I pulled some strings, and I'm now going to Toronto direct on Wednesday I'm bummed out like mad that I can't go to NYC and possibly not even Detroit, but I guess it just happens sometimes. Next time I guess.. But at least now I can go to Canada! Wednesday can't come fast enough.

This is my third day trying to get out of the island on standby. I was 38/47 on the list earlier. So many families of staff members using their tickets for holiday.. It's insanity. It seems to be impossible to get out of the Caribbean right now! Hopefully I'll figure out something soon, otherwise I may have to cancel parts of my itinerary.. :(

This morning Travis set out to do something he's been talking about doing since we went to Hawaii -- he took a surfing lesson. ... I was a little bit disappointed that the tour did not stopped here. I would have like to.<br><br>We then proceeded to St. John's Church which is perched 800 feet above the Atlantic ocean. Here, we got off the bus and enjoyed our tour inside as well as outside the church. It was amazing. From the back of the church, a magnificent view of the blue azure ocean could be seen. ... Hourrah! Mi and I decided to sit way at the back of the boat for more excitement. Well, we sure were not disappointed. The ride was extremely a high speed one. With excitement, I kept yelling and yelling as water kept splashing on my face and the boat jumping the high waves. By the time we arrived at Turtle Bay, well, Mi and I were soaked. Sunday travel to Bridgetown, Barbados. Nightmare travels at the hands of Liat Airlines. Avoid under any circumstances. The flights were so oversold we were bumped from 2:00 pm departure to finally take-off at 6:45. For a 45 minute flight we had been in travel/limbo mode for 8 hours! ... the natural scenery here. afterwards we were taken to a beach near campus and given a free lunch. then we chilled out on the beach, playing volleyball and (american) football and just hanging out. it was a great way to end the week. i think i'm going to post what i have here...i know i'm leaving stuff out but i haven't put anything up in a while so here goes. next post i'll try to make it up and put pictures and things up. meanwhile, hope everyone is doing well and i'll talk to you soon...
