This morning I begin my 20 plus hour journey to the Solomon Islands. This is a part of a museum exchange programme between the Museums Association of the Caribbean (MAC) and the Pacific Islands Museum Association (PIMA). The exchange is supposed to last 7 weeks, but this blog will not look at the details of the exchange, but rather give a inside view of the island, its people and my experiences while I am here in the Solomon Islands.

... It appeared to be judged by a gentleman sitting mid-court, but he might have just been giving them a hard time, while enjoying his Banks beer. Couldn't tell. We were mesmerized for a long time, watching the players volley in the midst of cooking, vending, drinking, and general milling around. ... early on the morning of the 20th December. Although we had a rather long passage (19 days) we all enjoyed it immensley. Its funny, I was almost reluctant to reach land because sailing the ocean is so peaceful and there's no hassle with other boats, marinas, anchoring etc...
