Our rooms in Chania are not quite as spacious as those in Zaros. In Zaros, we had an upstairs and a downstairs, a lounge room and an outdoor deck (we were very spoilt!).

So today, as we really don't have space to work except in bed, we are sitting at an outdoor café, overlooking the harbour, catching up on correspondence, bill payments and the blog. Oh yes, very tough :-)

We arrived in Chania (pronounced Harn-ya) on Saturday. Despite initially thinking otherwise, we hired a car to drive from Zaros to Chania; wheeling all our luggage (65kg) 1.5km to get to the bus stop in Zaros at 6am was too hard!

Day 31 We woke up early, and made our way to have breakfast at a place famous for it bougiatsa. It is really hard to explain, but it is very light cheese, almost like custard, wrapped in filo pastry topped with sugar. It is very sweet and really good!
