The drive back to Chania didn't take long, we headed for the sports area with the sandy coves. When we arrived it was busy with people taking their daily exercise, walkers some with dogs, some with prams, joggers and cyclists were completing circuits if the park. We went for a walk up over the headland following a path that weaved in between boulders and shrubs, we could see some people swimming in the cove it looked very inviting. After coffee we took our chairs ...

... found it. The gates were open but there wasn't anyone there, however the water was on and the chemical toilet waste was accessible, so we used their facilities (thank you) and then left and parked at the end of the road for the night outside a closed taverna. We set off around the site. The palace built 4000 years ago by the Minoans gives an insight into the ...

... the cafes. We explored the old town a bit more finding the Rimondi Fountain with it's spouting lions heads before heading to the front to find a restaurant for lunch our New Years treat. We chose a traditional Greek place. It had an extensive menu, at the recommendation of 'The Old Druid' we both had Kleftiki, sliced of lambs leg slowly cooked with vegetables and potatoes, it was delicious! Washed down with beers. The ...

... another track but with the same scenario. However we saw the sign for the Agia Irini Gorge, we thought that we would walk up the gorge tomorrow.
We returned to Dream Catcher, we had been out a couple of hours and the sun had gone leaving the valley chilly as the wind blew down off the snow.
We don't have any Internet at the moment so we prepared the blog and chose which photographs we would use before we had tea. We then read for a ...
