... Moscow also had lots of gold everywhere. One of our stops was at the river where Tatiana pointed out a massive, ugly looking statue of Columbus (she hated it). She explained that the sculptor had originally made it as a present to the USA but Bill Clinton respectfully declined the gift as he said any statue can’t be bigger than the statue of liberty (we thought that was a great excuse for not wanting it). So the sculptor then said it was Peter the Great instead of Columbus. ...
... No wonder all our phone ran out of credit once we left Moscow... the phone plan we purchased was meant to be using within Moscow only. Then we had lunch in a shopping mall along the main road. I had a very bad stomach ache in the middle of the lunch and had to sit down for 2 hours before it went away. Jacky and Geoffrey had to spent a long time on the street looking for pharmacy (Gde apteka?) for some painkiller for me.

Our plan for the proceeding few hours ahead of our 4pm pickup was to make our way to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and then walk across the River, taking a final look Westward towards the Kremlin and then continuing East along the river past the Peter the Great monument and then through Monument Park and finally through to Gorky ...
