Dawn arose and we couldn't wait to escape the LaQuinta Kansas City. We have stayed at LaQuinta before, and they were all new and very nice. This one turned out to be a refurbished motel they bought from some other chain. The place was refurbished, but the whole place smelled like an ashtray. Yuck. Not going thru all the small towns was not nearly as tiring. In scenic Burlington (ha), we found the no-tel motel, Sloan's Motel. Was basic, but fine. Walked to Safeway for Lean Cuisines dinner in the micro! We are such high rollers! 105 there ...
