Our test drive was disappointing although Dana had warned us. When he replaced the tires he went for the cheaper unbelted ones and there was definitely a recurrent thump from the flat spots - of course made worse ...
... kayaks, it is much more difficult for us to get around in a canoe, but we did ok and saw some birds. not as many as we did when we just walked around the park. bald eagle, ospry, great blue heron, great american egret, king fisher. there also was a fishing pier. it was about a half hour south of st. augustine and onced you canoed in the river and walked on the trails, it was done. we did not walk on trails because there were lots of ticks there. it was a good place ...

The ramp to lower the boat on Silver Springs River is very close to Ocala, about 7 miles (11 KM). From there we were going slowly with the boat through a jungle like river, and it really felt like we were in the Amazon. Silver Springs is the site of one of the largest artesian spring formations in the world, producing nearly 550 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily. ...

Managed to call Mum a couple of times since she arrived home at Riverhead. Not surprisingly she has been deluged with mail. Heather writes that Michael has his first molar - finally. And Ric********tinues to work with Carolyn on her recent purchase. All of this communication would have been unthinkable not so long ago. The new iPad was introduced yesterday. This technolgy doesn't stand still.
