... we managed to get a shot of me jumping off ten+ meter cliffs into the ocean. Mirna conquered her fear of heights and jumped of a very large rock, without screaming. We then just lay around in the sun, and fell deeper in love with Milos. Besides the heavenly water, and sparkling beaches there is, how shall i put it, cheese. Yesterday we ate the best grilled and spicy goats cheese. And for a couple cursed with lactose intolerance we can proudly say it was worth it.

... John then backed up as far as possible (about 250ft) at the bottom of the cliff and everyone held their breath as he accelerated and hit the hill as fast as he could. The car started to climb and half way up the car sputtered. However, it finally kicked in, and John made it to the top. Everyone on the beach clapped and cheered. I hiked up the road and got back into our weak little car.
The next day the Meltemi winds grew much stronger and started to become a problem with ...
... landscape. Many of these can only hold six to ten people and they are built by various local families in dedication to the patron saint of the family or just a favorite saint.
We found another tiny village called Ano Meria where there were two tiny restaurants- Mimi’s was the name of one of the restaurants and there was fresh octopus drying on a clothes line in front of the restaurant. We tried the grilled Octopus there and ...
... each one in a different Stile. Most of them old some semi-old. The feeling you have is of watching a side walk and instead of the road there is the sea. In this small side walk We were lucky to see another "parliament" in full action - some 5 or 6 men Around a table, for a moment I thought that it was a small tavern. No Chance. It simply was the veranda of one of the fisherman having some ouzo and a mazelike. (Something small to eat so that the ouzo doesn ...

I enjoyed the whole adventure so much but was a little disappointed when I saw so many people at the beach! Many of them had taken a boat to reach there, which is a much easier route. Nevertheless, we stayed on for a while to catch our breath before starting a more challenging ...
... available sea-view room for us does not have a private shower and
we had to use the shower which is located next door to our room.
Besides this small inconvenience, we have only praises for the hotel – its central location among the residences of the local village within the ancient castle wall makes us feel like we are staying with a relative instead of at a commercial hotel.
We saw ...
... quiet and private. We went to the south side of the island to a beach called Palechori. Now the weird thing about this beach is that the sand is hot.... You dig down a couple of centimetres and it gets hotter and hotter the further you dig. There is even a taverna which cooks its food in the ground because its so hot. This is because of the volcanic activity below the surface. The water ...
Milos, Greece amanda_odwin... problem was that we understood none of them. Nonetheless, we managed to negotiate a price and walked with loaded packs the 1/4 mile to her home. She was so sweet we both just wished that we could really communicate with her. Milos is a majestic island. It is much less busy with tourists than many of her neighbors. All of the food that we ate at the seaside tavernas was wonderful. The diversity of the island beaches is wild, some are long ...
Milos, Greece joelandesToday we decided to rent a car! It is so easy to rent thing abroad, we gave them our expired driver license and they thought nothing of it.haha. We did some off roading down some really hairy dirt paths that went right along the cliffs right down to the ocean, had the best time just driving around and exploring. So then decided that we want to drive ...
Sifnos, Cyclades, Greece corr... in order to see the most amazing island come into sight. Since the island is only inhabited by 1500 residents and their main industries are tourism, mining, and fishing, Milos will be the quietest of the islands that we visit. Our hotel owners picked us up and showed us our cute rooms where we were fitted with 2 single beds, a hotplate, fridge, closet, and shower with a detachable head that you have to hold ...
