My flight to New Zealand is in 4 days and I think I have everything ready to go. It is hard to say though because I have never planned for a trip quite like this.

Once we'd checked into the hotel, we walked 2 blocks up the road to get some takeaway for dinner & that didn't feel great either. Very deserted even though an enormous government building was across the road from the restaurant. On the upside, the hotel room was great, big with twin double beds, free wi fi & breakfast included. So, in hindsight... Good sleep, great shower (the important stuff) and ...

... and Museum which is quite extensive and has engaging exhibits.

One aspect of FDR's life that was stressed was the effect of polio on him and the extent of it. He was very careful to show himself as walking even though his legs were paralyzed in order to have a chance at a political career. It also turns out that he had presidential ambitions early on. I had not been aware of that. The exhibit showcased his sweeping policies to combat ...
