... was in order. Big day. Woke to a fine but cooler morning. Sightseeing on the agenda today. Our first stop was FDR's house at Hyde Park. We saw a short film & then took a tour of the house. Really interesting & now have to go home & read up on him. Sounds like an American Gough Whitlam & the whole Polio/never being seen in a wheelchair thing is so unbelievable. The estate is right on the Hudson River & the wind today was freezing. Back ...

We also had free wi fi once we crossed into the US which is always great & the train had a viewing carriage which we each visited for a while. The adrenaline was rushing through me and I was shaking from having lived out my fear of falling. We came down from the climb and I decided to do some research into how I could get over my fear of falling, trusting the gear, trusting my partner and how to master my mind ...

... and Museum which is quite extensive and has engaging exhibits.

One aspect of FDR's life that was stressed was the effect of polio on him and the extent of it. He was very careful to show himself as walking even though his legs were paralyzed in order to have a chance at a political career. It also turns out that he had presidential ambitions early on. I had not been aware of that. The exhibit showcased his sweeping policies to combat ...

After visiting the FDR Presidential Library and Museum and Springwood, the Roosevelt estate, we drove to Poughkeepsie and started on the Walkway over the Hudson. At first we were just going to try it and then Emma became determined to get to the other side. The late afternoon light made great lighting but I had trouble with over and under-exposures. I kept recalling some sound installation when I ...
