      On Sunday I caught the train to Bretzfeld to attend Gottesdienst at the church in Rappach. This is the place where my emigrant ancestor resided and the church there is quite small. It is affiliated with the church in Bretzfeld, but they only have services there twice a month. There were a few sprinkles as I made my way from the train station to Rappach via the Wanderweg. I arrived a bit more than 30 minutes early and the church was still locked, so I wandered through the village a bit. ...

      ... rain and we got soaked, so we decided to hang out in the hostel for a while. After we'd rested we headed back into the centre to find Vapianos (where else!) and ate a lush meal before going back to the hostel and to bed.

      ... the curious facts that guided the way, rather than the cars themselves, we headed across the border to France in search of a campground for the night.

      Planning to stay close to Strasbourg, we again blindly trusted the Tom Tom and she screwed us over again, leading us to a paddock adjacent to the railway track, rather than a campground. Annoyed and with the weather again closing in, we tried for the next nearest site which was luckily just 20 minutes away. Welcome back to France ...

      ... I live here because now I'm the one showing my friend around and can even work out the subway. After Stuttgart we ran into some of my school friends at the train station and traveled with them to a party. Despite the fact that Evann speaks no German, everyone could communicate and we had a really good time. I'm so glad that she's here visiting. MISSED MY GIRL SO MUCH. ...
