    Travel Day

Because we didn’t have far to travel today we did not rush this morning and had a leisurely breakfast. Once on the road we headed east on US Rt. 40, where we passed through beautiful mountain country containing small towns and large ski resort areas, the road for the most part was good but we did encounter a climb of 6 miles at a 6% grade followed by a descent of 6% for 6 miles and then 4 miles at 5%; ...

We arrived at our son's house in just over 8 hours, invigorated by the beautiful day on the road and anxious to see our daughter who was coming to visit ...

    We arrived in Golden, Colorado

A travel blog entry by dolestrada on Jun 18, 2013

Left Utah for Colorado this morning. Had breakfast and off we went. We are two days ahead of schedule to arrive in Colorado. We do not have reservations for today and tomorrow, so we are winging it. We drove the I-70 from Utah to Golden, Colorado. The topography and landscape definitely change drastically between the two states. In Colorado the elevations are higher, at one point we reached 10,000 ft. The state is much ...
