We watched as villagers brought out fresh fish to some of the boats and then saw the food being prepared (chopped up on the deck and cooked by the 'chef' in a couple of large woks that are hung off the back).     ... I know is that my back now looks like it has 15 or so huge hickies on it! It was funny though as everybody crowded round when somebody was having the cups removed, laughing at the worst of the bruises!

    ... and bikes we set off for a long bike ride along the river and through so many tiny little villages we lost count. The villages are rough but still possess some character in an odd sort of way. Every once in awhile we would see farmers in the rice fields or in the small plats of land weeding or picking some crops. We saw lots of chickens and baby chicks, and many old people just sitting ...

    ... airport by our hostel and taken to Yangshou where we were to spend the next 4 days. Yangshou has amazing scenery, lots of karst limestone peaks everywhere you look, however it is very touristy in the centre of town (West Street). The first day we rented some mountain bikes from the hostel and headed to Moon Hill via Dragon Bridge.     ... tried on the first day, and even there, we had to try two different machines until we could get some money out - whoever knew trying to get money would be so difficult??!! Luckily the supermarket was close to the bank, so we could shop too.

    We had to catch the local bus to Guilin, which is about an hour and a half, and we are now on the train. We finally reach Shanghai tomorrow afternoon at about 3pm, so we're in for the long haul!!!!
