The chef checked on us several times during the meal, and I believe he enjoyed seeing how much we were enjoying ourselves, particular as we were the bulk of his clientele for the night. ... have done fine with his human GPS skills to get us to Gatallops. It is a tiny village perched atop a hillside. The roads a very narrow, and the whole town has less than 250 inhabitants. He had warned me that the hotel was at the highest part of the village, and that I might have a hard time getting the van to the top of the final very steep hill, as it involved a very tight turn and narrow street. To add to the challenge, once I turned off the main road ...

If you have been following the blog for the last few weeks you will have spotted the regular pattern of time by the coast with interspersed with trips inland for climbing. We had visited this area back in 2006 and had really enjoyed it. It has some stunning cliffs and gorges high up in the hills at around 1000m above sea level. Although we are high in the hills the day time temperature are still up in the mid 30's so all our climbing is being done ...
