Spent a few hours hiking through the forest next to the Lodge, before heading down to Breckenridge and wandered around the town.
The morning starts off with another hike into the forest. Then its time for my friend Gerry to arrive from Cleveland Ohio.
These days are spent sightseeing in the car. Bonus was seeing a mother moose very close to the Lodge.
Tomorrow we begin our adventure to the west coast
Had a mixed day at Loveland. Lindsay and I drove to Loveland early and got on the slopes by 10:30 or so. Kirk, Chris and Vienne didn't get there until noon.
- Weather was great
- Ski conditions were great
- Lindsay really elevated her confidence with skiing
- We skied all the blues runs
... the Mountain Manhattan and Kelly had the White Hot Martini. We ordered starters - escargot, lamb tandoori, and potatoe chips with blue cheese and chives. Watched the Riviera golf tournament for a bit, talked to a bartender who used to live in Austin, and generally had a great time. Walked back to the condo, then watched the Oscars (not so great).

Back to breakfast at Park and Main - another great breakfast sandwich ...
The time has come for me to reconnect, brave my email inbox, pop that New Zealand SIM card out of my phone, and dress myself in an outfit that is not exclusive to tennis shoes and lycra. Perhaps it was the jet lag or four glasses of wine I consumed on my layover home, but upon my return to the States I went through a solid 48 hours of feeling like the little guy on the Zoloft commercial with a dark cloud hovering over me. I wanted to return to the mornings of jumping out of bed ...
... know, the jerks who hang out in the slow zones and yell at you and take your pass for going too fast. (translation: we ski all day and occasionally "educate" guests). Roughly 125 days on the mountain and nearly 2,500,000 vertical feet skied and boarded. Ski by day, drink by night. Everyone is up here for the same reason - to ski, to enjoy the winter, to just have a good time. A playground for those who don't quite want to grow ...
