    We awoke to a sunny but windy day in Termoli. After a light breakfast we set out for Vieste on the far Eastern point of the spur of Italy. It took about two hours to make the drive with a few interesting sites along the way, some unexpected, as in hookers on the highway pull outs waving at trucks to stop.

    ... of the mosaics are taken. They are beautiful. There is also a relic of St. John Paul II. Then we went to Monte Sant'Angelo on the bus. It was up a mountain. St. Michael the Archangel appeared to a bishop in a cave there. We went to the cave.     After another hearty breakfast we went down to the harbour and took the ferry across to San Nicola island, a 5 minute trip. The island is smaller and is dominated by a large castle and the vegetation is completely different, having no trees - just scrub.
