Let me be honest with you all this isn't about any great adventure i've had or even will had but perhaps may very well have a trip to the desert land of senegal. You see dear reader i'm embarking on a literary adventure regarding the land & people of Senegal with a book titled " Walls of Jericho" a narrative of the perilous journey of a group of ...
Kingston, Saint Andrew, Jamaica kevinpintoJamaica was my very first missions trip. I went with Shayna and Chad for one week and we had an amazing and eye opening experience. The water was beautiful and we went to ocho rios and climbed the waterfal too-it was so beautiful! We also witnessed poverty and need in ways that we had never seen before. We were able to minister God's love to people but honestly I think we all took away much more from this experience than we could ever give!

Kingston, Jamaica phantom1212I got a ride from the airport to the upper town. After check in, I ventured in the city and was soon offered some "stuff". Oh well, no thank you. The Bob Marley museum is quite interesting and probably the only notable attraction in Kingston (other than this feeling of being in a different country).
Kingston, Jamaica gratien... to buy some yogurt at a store in Port Antonio, it was difficult finding a shop with a refrigerator, let along one that carried yogurt. We had to settle for a pineapple we purchased in the market. Winnifred Beach is right beside the Blue Lagoon of Brooke Shields fame. Unfortunately, we discovered that it is only accessible by boat for which, of course, you have to pay. We could catch a glimpse of it from the road so we didn't bother. Closer to Port Antonio ...
Port Antonio, Jamaica kimandmartin... and demanding $75AUD a night for poor accomodation, that we reluctantly gave up. Apart from the Bob Marley museum, demonstrating his achievements and thanks to his loving wife that put all this together in their house so people could visit. The lady in our hotel was more than willing to help us with information and let us tastetest nearly 100 percent ...
Kingston, Jamaica clintonb... us to come ashore and experience Kingston's bars and nightlife. We chatted about Jamaica, the hurricane, and general things. They bummed cigarettes from us, one of the boat crew asked them if they had any ganja, they laughed and said they did, but they didn't bring it with them on boat inspections. We fixed them up with some cheesecake, apples, Coca-cola, and 50 lbs. of frozen fish to give to the people who ...
Kingston, Jamaica tbassplayer... early start on the first day of our trip as we had tickets to see Pakistan V Ireland in Kingston which was due to start at 9.30am. Seeing Ireland play on St.Patricks Day was a fantastic experience and there were lots of people wearing costumes to celebrate the occasion. We had some draught Guinness to get into the spirit of things, it'd be rude not to :o) As there are many people reading who likely know ...
Kingston, Jamaica zoomingandy... hmmm, maybe later"! HAAAA! Well mum and I had, whole snapper with onions, tomatoes and okra, rice and peas, veggies, and curry lobster! It cost us, $3,889.00! Thats correct. I was laughing my head off! But it wasn't so funny when we converted it to find it 63.00 American dollars with a mistake we made of adding 7.00 tip (around $600, JA!)and they had already added tip to the meal! Even more not funny still ...
Montego Bay - Jamaica, Jamaica mystical... small employment relief to the farming community where literacy is a luxury and time still passes slowly. At the same time, a positive synergy of industry, government and local community activism exists in the form of the Jamaica Bauxite Institute/ Joint Community Council. Through this organization, Jonathan and I have met many people, those we joined with to do the sample hurricane assessment, and have been invited to participate in a variety of other sustainable development community projects.
