... we had stayed a few days ago. We had a bit of a walk round the lake which, unlike last time, was absolutely mobbed because of the public holiday. We enjoyed an ice cream before getting back on the road. We dropped in to look at the old Lake Louise station and admire a couple of old carriages. Everywhere we went we saw signs warning about grizzlies in the area which was a bit alarming. We never saw any though, not a single one!

We set off early, heading East to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. As we reached the Trans-Canada highway the scenery exploded into deep green, pine tree laden mountains, with craggy tops and snow tips and dropped down into opaque opal green rivers yand lakes.
