... br> I was surprised at the almost endless variation of the mountains we drove through. Prior to this trip I expected majestic mountains but fairly consistent scenery. What we found was that almost every turn showed different vistas and steadily changing character in the mountain range. Some tree covered and gracious, some desolate, and some with shear rock faces and a craggy, almost threatening presence.

We aimed for Glacier National Park in hopes of seeing some of its name sakes, however the weather was terrible; cold, grey, drizzly and windy. So we headed further West to Mount Revelstoke in search of the Meadow in the Sky Parkway, a 24k drive with 16 hairpin turns.
