... our 5 hour journey to Beatenberg in Switzerland, in the mountains not far from Interlaken. The Hotel Gloria is run by Bernhard and Jacky whom Rosa knew from their time at the Fish Manse in Nth Adelaide. Nice room with a balcony and a view of the Eiger, Monch and the Jungfrau. There was spectacular scenery our whole journey to Beatenberg, snow capped mountains, green meadows and Swiss chalet villages. Lot of bridges ...

... but I know I will look back on these photos many times and remember just how perfect that time was.

We got back to the Dub and showered before heading back into Interlaken on the bus with no clear idea of what we were going to do other than eat and catch a free bus somewhere. We had time to duck into the supermarket and stock up on some snacks for the next few days which was good to get some fruit which you don't get a lot of when travelling around. We were then prepared to go up on the train into the mountains which was a two hour train ride which was pretty cool. The trains are quite ...

A grey day

... Oh, and the 100 was AFTER the discount I get for having ia Eurail pass. Switzerland is crazy expensive! I think I'll survive my three days without breaking the bank, but more might be risky! I triple check that these trains I'm taking intercity are covered - yep, all by the national railway company, all Eurail covered. Zurich looks cold and grey in terms of both weather and building style. The main thing I wanted to see here was the Landesmuseum on Swiss ...
