After a few laid-back days in Zurich and Luzern, we were a bit caught-offguard by the hustle and bustle of the Swiss capital. Bern is a busy city, especially when there is a lot of construction amongst the buses, trams, cars, bicycles and pedestrians. We stayed at the Backpackers Hotel Glocke, which was one of the best we've been in so far. The rooms and bathrooms are super clean, and the kitchen very well-equipped, despite the crazy amounts of posted rules. There is a nice lounge area and sp...
Bern, Switzerland euroadventurersFirst day we only walked around last night after we trained from salzburg, connected through Zurich and stopped at Luzern for a few hours. saw the covered bridge and the lion statue which (according to our luck) was under construction. also got to revisit my favourite mirror maze featured on funniest home videos i was so glad it has been good weather so far so we can wander around outside. i woke up this morning to snowing outside my window. i am looking at it now falling on the long street o...
Bern, Bern, Switzerland tissnsevenHello faithful readers! So after a disappointing stay in Zurich, our faith in Switzerland was greatly redeemed by the glorious country'a capital, Bern. what a wonderful city! We spent three nights in an amazing hostel, where we were again enclosed in our own little nook off of a 6-bed dorm, effectively having our own space. Also, our entire stay was nicley accentuating by an almost constant snowfall, which started on our first night and left snow on the roofs the next day, and then continued,...
Bern, Bern, Switzerland wagonmaker... on some prior ski trips to similar altitutdes. Perhaps it's due to the gradual acclimation via the trains, etc. However, back to the view... it was spectacular. If you enjoy mountains, it doesn't likely get much better than this. Our day was a fairly clear one as well.

When we arrived at Interlaken we then had to take an extended series of trains, lifts, buses, etc. to get to our eventual destination which was Schilthorn ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland trockieI'm back in Switzerland, and seriously couldn't be happier right now. I love this country! As soon as my train crossed the Italy/Switzerland border (you can tell where you are just from the scenery from country-country) I felt my energy change. I know how nuts that sounds, but there is just an amazing quality to this country. I just feel so good here! It's hard to explain... if you have been here too, you know what I mean :) So now I need to ...
Bern, Bern, Switzerland dfilly... I did get out of the Starbucks help session was a free Switzerland adapter for my power cord. And the guy, Jeremy, was really nice.

The train ride the next morning was the best I’d had yet. As we sped along the hillside, cows grazed in hillside pastures and mountains lined the horizon. And there was a play place on the train for kids! Swiss quality of life. Unmatched.

Well, that ...
Bern, Bern, Switzerland richfrohl... on the one nice day we had (so nice!), been to a big cave with staletites, lots of waterfalls, making cheese and butter on Stephens parents farm in the mountains, museums, and i went paragliding! It has been flat out day and night so i requested a day at home today to do a wash, speak to some family and matt and do a overdue email home. Oh and i drove.....what an scary experience! For me and Christa! I took her car after getting home at 5am from a festival and drove in the ...
Reichenbach, Switzerland shazzasheilaFrom Eric... What's new? As you know, you spend your life waiting for one thing or another. When you are 10 years old, you can't wait until you get to 16. When you reach 16, you can't wait to get to 20.Then you get a job, you can't wait to get your first pay packet because you have been waiting to buy that camera that you always wanted. Then you get bills to pay and you are waiting for the cash to pay them and so on. Now we are waiting ...
Gold Coast, Switzerland 70onabike... I've got know one to convince to stay but myself:) I actually got sun on my face walking around yesterday so right now I look like I've just come from the beach. I've uploaded a few pictures in somewhat the right places, but uploading takes awhile and I have no patience when I could be outside or off talking to people. I always think of things I want to write while I'm out during the day and completely forget by the ...
Interlaken, Switzerland beth... the apartment buildings. After 10pm in most buildings, people have to be quiet. Our building is pretty slack with rules, but I know some people aren't allowed to flush toilets or even (for the guys) pee standing up!! Yeah...apparently peeing standing up makes too much noise! I thought that was funny. In our building I think the only thing (that I know of anyway) is that you are not allowed to do laundry after 10. Speaking of laundry, that was also quite the adventure ...
