We pick up Tom - it's great to see him again - he has since married an Irish girl, a vet, and they are expecting their first child - Jan and Eddy's first grandchild so great excitement. Tom has his dog, Penny, with him. She is a very cute black spaniel and very well behaved. Jan and Eddy are looking after her while Tom is away. We set up our picnic ...

... could slip one inside a woman’s average-sized hand bag. Looks sort of like a flattened typewriter with three, and later four, spinning dials on top. Spin the dials every day and type out your war message and no one who doesn't know the sequence of dials your dials are set on can read what you’ve typed.

Unless. Unless you put together some of the brightest minds on one side of the war to decode its workings.

Three months to go!! Christmas excesses over and serious training is well underway. Now that 2014 is here, Wainwright's epic adventure is suddenly becoming very real and very, very exciting. So, the question is, have I been a good boy, despite the festive season? Well, even if I say so myself, I've done pretty well, stacking up plenty of training miles - with and without the golf!!

Dave and Sue popped over to see us this afternoon which was really nice, though I was not very sociable as I was watching the womens' final at the time.
