... the pub was air conditioned.

"You never know what's round the corner", is one of our favourite sayings, weed and fishing line round the propeller to a "Danish Camp" in the middle of the Cambridgeshire countryside. Maybe not quite as strange as you think, as the Danes, Vikings then in AD 870, used the River Ouse to invade this part of Britain.

... the anti-clockwise side of the M25 was stationary though!).

I spent yesterday unpacking and sorting through 1250 photos - friends and family I hope you are looking forward to seeing them all, and the thousand or so Teresa took :D I couldn't write yesterday because then it would all be over too soon. It is still too soon, it doesn't feel like a month has been and gone, but it was fantastic.

... Marston Vale Timberland Trail - definitely no mountains (and only a modest hill for David this time), but a terrific walk nevertheless. The walk takes in the villages of Marston Moretaine, Lidlington, Milbrook, Ampthill and Stewartby and passes the historic Houghton Hall and King's Wood (where Henry VIII used to hunt) and Katherine's Cross, a memorial to Henry's first spurned Queen.
