Due to flight changes, I only stayed at Hotel Camino Real for an evening but it was a pleasant place to be. I enjoyed a free cocktail and fish fritters (average) while watching some live sax music. It was a lovely end to a very long day. My only 'complaint' was that at checkout I asked if I could swing by for a swim while in Managua for a 5 hour layover next week. They said no, even when i offered to pay. I understand the pool is for guests but i have paid for a room and was will willing to pay extra?

Check out at 9.30 before leaving at lunchtime to catch a panga back to BCI. Pack them in tight again but our luck held out as having a couple of locals in our row meant that they allowed one less in our row. This was the first leg in our 56 hour 6 leg trip home although luckily we have a 14 hour stopover in Managua so will spend night at Hotel …

Well any thoughts of relaxing by the pool until the start of the tour, went out the window as nude bathing would have been frowned upon.

No real shop onsite to buy clothes so spent the morning checking out the grounds and uploading pictures to flickr. Before we left I downloaded the Nikon app which allows my phone to connect to my cameras …

Early morning transfer with Freddies but my flight app said there was a delay. Didn't want to risk it though, having heard of the many problems likely to be encountered at LAX.
To be honest it was all pretty easy getting in to gate and less hassle than in Aus.

Turns out that the app was correct and our flight to Miami was delayed by …

4 a.m. Who gets up this early? It's dark, cold and raining; we are heading to Nicaragua where it will be dark, HOT and raining, at least that is what the weather forecast says - temperatures in the 90's.

We experienced something unheard of in travel today, our flight from Seattle to Atlanta was on time and smooth, we made our connection …

... off I went. Supposedly you can control the board somehow but nobody could explain it and I couldn't figure it out. So when I started going really fast the board would start turning and suddenly I would be off of it and sliding down the hill. Dang. But for the brief moments I was going fast it was pretty exhilerating for sure.
After Cerro Negro the trekkers split off from the volcano boarders and we went back to the ranger station. Ate some snacks ...
