We headed to Santa Monica first thing to get tickets for an open top bus tour of Hollywood. We strolled the Walk of Fame, viewed the Hollywood Sign and paid a visit to the Hard Rock. We rode down palm tree lined Rodeo Drive and saw the mansions of Beverley Hills. Lunch was purchased at the famous Pink's Hot ...

... the line would have taken about a half an hour. On our way back to PCC, we stumbled upon the church of Scientology's main building in East Hollywood. It's blue. And big. And looks like a insane asylum. No joke. From there we headed back to base camp and had dinner. I might go get a donut at a donut shop here in Pasadena, but I'm not sure yet. Happy New Year to you ...

I left for dinner at the Kilauea Lodge at 6pm for my 6:30 reservation. I was ready so figured I’d see if they could take me early. Tonight I had a Kona Bob’s Coffee Blast cocktail which has Kona Bob’s coffee, Baileys and Kahlua. It was huge and looked like Mauna Kea in wintertime with a cap of snow (whipped cream) on top. I had the NY Steak for the entree, salad ...

... amounts, unexplainable but tangible. For all that it made a good first impression... and second.... and third, right down to 24th which is the number of rides & attractions we patronised. Whereas we think Disneyland has a slightly more sentimental and exciting air, Disney California Adventure (DCA) is just pure fun and thrills. Every ride thrilled us to certain extents. OK maybe excepting King Triton's Carousel which we did for a bit of a laugh, but ...
