When we headed out of Boothbay we hoped back on to Route 1 North to drive through some more coastal towns. The first one we went through was Damariscotta. We tried to find the reversing water falls, but were unlucky with that. We did stop at the Round Top Dairy for some icecream in Damariscotta though. Worth the drive...
... with that kind of deal, how could we refuse?! I'm not sure if it's because the lobster was so fresh or but the knuckles, claws and tail were delicious! We stayed away from the ribs and colorful gunk!!
After our treat, we walked out in the drizzle to take pictures of the rocky coast and lighthouse. Then we drove up to Ellsworth and sampled the Lobster Red Ale at a lovely Italian restaurant. Maine was my surprise state. Love ...
Day 4 at Thomaston
... made at the prison. The items range from paintings to model ships to rocking horses to back scratchers. I took a couple of pictures of model ships before someone told me I couldn't take photos. There was a sigh at the door which I overlooked. The guy that checked us out was either a policeman or a prison guard in uniform.
It was a nice day but reached the mid 80's. We had to run the A/C mainly because of the humidity.

Day 3 at Thomaston
... br> We passed through downtown Rockland on the way to Walmart and could see where the Lobster Festival was located. All that we could see was just like a fair, carnival, etc., ferris wheels and such. We had no desire to go, although there might have been some band that we would like. It is doubtful, though, as we mostly like ones like Henry Mancini or the Big Bands of yesteryear.
