... met back up with the kiwi couple, Royce and Jan and the taxi driver picked us back up at 3pm, he had some places he wanted to show us. He started by taking us up the old road which was very narrow and windy and luckily we met no other traffic. He took us to a look out point, where we got a birds eye view over the whole of Hvar and the nearby islands. Next he took us to see the lavender farms, along the way there ...

As has become tradition we later wandered through town at about 4am looking for food, but as we were in Split this was actually a success for once. He bought some pizza and water, and would have stopped at every food store on the way back if I hadn't dragged him along. Beach day in Split

I spent my last day in Split relaxing on the beach with my new found Scottish friends. We met up in the morning, grabbed a pastry for breakfast and snagged some prime chairs on the beach front. We didn't waste anytime on going into the water, it was cold to get into but as always, once you're in you're fine ! Once out of the water we lounged about in part sun ... part shade, ...

... But as usual when I do things well, something went wrong. This time is was half of my dormitory who were leaving too but hadn't prepared anything! So I found myself up at dawn after a way too short night... But well, it's hard to stay grumpy long in a place like Split under a bright sun, so I grabbed a breakfast in a bakery and I jumped into the bus, straight to Klis!

Split was beautiful but very touristy. The streets were lined with markets, restaurants and of course the ocean! We had a nice apartment with a kitchen so we could do a lot of our own cooking which was a nice change! We only had one full day there so ...
