      ... was a party downstairs so the students could bring their kids in for face painting and there was a competition for the best fancy dress etc.

    • Bake in the centre of the oven until the custards are firm. It took me 40 minutes.
    • Remove from the water and leave to cool to room temperature before refrigerating for a minimum of 3 hours.
    • Once completely cool sprinkle sugar on top and put under a hot grill to caramelise.

      ... point east in the Gaspé peninsula where we could see seals playing in the sea just below. There was also bear droppings on the path, but we didn't see any. I don't know whether I'm happy or sad about that - I'm still slightly scared by the idea of bears!
