    Heading to Forillon National Park

... setting up when Debbie said "look out, there is a porcupine by the trailer!" And yes indeed there was! Wonder what other lovely neighbours we have? After our usual 'after set up beer', we decided to walk down to the water's edge to see the ocean, or at least the Gulf of St. Laurent. We were lucky again, treated to some wildlife sightings! There had to be about a dozen seals just bopping around in the surf maybe 50-100 feet away from us! Yoohoo! When we returned to our ...

We left Rimounski at about 8 AM this morning. We had a long day on the river but it was calm with little wind. The small towns and villages are pretty to look at and scattered along the river. The groundskeeper at the campground has befriended us so he gave us lots of ideas. He was telling us about the ...

... I fully expected to have a nice drive around the coast like on the south coastal route of the Gaspe Peninsula which is just lovely. It was nice but not as nice as the south coast and also much ********* Harvey with many hills and the descents ranging from 8-14 % grades. Finally around Cap de Madeleine, the road starts to hug the coast and it's absolutely wonderful. So many communities, too.

    ... asleep.

It is these moments when as parents you have to maintain your cool so that your kids think-ok this sucks-but it is manageable. It is also these moments where as park visitors you are ready to get some choice words off your chest. The ranger was very apologetic, and relayed his own frustration with the management system for reservations and communication that led him to move people nightly. A good example of the cost of ...
