Today I tried to go to the Catacombs. I arrived at about 11 and the line was wrapped around the block. I decided to get in line and wait, after about an hour and a half I hadn't moved very far and the line was getting shorter behind me so I decided to leave and come back. I walked over to the near by Montparnasse cemetery. After an hour or so I went to get a panini at a food stand. ...
... But the champagne was delicious. We'd been on the boat for about 3 minutes when suddenly we were moving east along the Seine, champagne in hand. In no time at all, there was fois gras. ... just how big it is!
We also took a detour (after a stop @ a corner cafe for a beer and coke) to another part of Paris where Mike and I stayed 12 years ago. We took a picture in front of the Saint Gregoire hotel where we stayed.
... We walked through the cathedral first. There is a lovely statue for Joan of Arc. I also spent some time talking to Sage about its famous stained glass windows, and Bryn loved walking only on the white tiles. (Our friend Joris told us that when he was a boy, he made sure never to walk on the black tiles because they had crocodiles. Bryn has taken this to heart and makes a special effort to avoid all black decorations on the floor.)
