... of movement we decided that Paris is too special to waste 90 minutes in a cue with hundreds of other smelly tourists. Instead, we headed off to the cemetery (funny that visiting a cemetery is more appealing that lining up). Spectacular gardens, peace in the middle of the city and free use of the loo. Bargain.

Internet has been great in this apartment – so we may not find it as good elsewhere. The free wifi in Paris doesn’t work at all it seems. Tonight we have decided to go back to Le Petit Celestin as we liked it so much the first night. It was lovely skyping with Josy today and we also managed a little skype with Craig.

Went to louvre first because we thought it was free. Long line. Then we found out it wasn't free. Merlin & Beth stayed in line and bought tickets. Scott and I went to orangerie. It was free and not too long of wait. So we did that. Then we walked down the tulleries garden, and all the way to notre dame. Merlin and Beth saw the Mona Lisa, but ...
... Mona Lisa as well as it's extensive collection of art and antiquities from around the world. The Louvre is considered one of the largest museums in the world... all it's exhibit halls end to end would measure 12 km! Also amazing is that it used to be a royal palace.... it's amazing to see the grandeur of the architecture and the opulence of what once was....

Dame is celebrating its 850 year anniversary, so there are temporary stairs in the cathedral square that hundreds of people were crowding on and taking photos from with Notre Dame in the background. I headed inside, noting lots of ‘silence’ signs and the eerie sound of the organ. It really is a stunning building, and all the artworks and decorations are breath-taking.
