Today Ruth and I took a canoe on the lake. We wanted to explore it more close to the coast. It was great fun apart from the burden on your shoulders. After an hour of paddling, our shoulders and forearms were worn out. We then had a relaxing afternoon by the pool, followed by a last supper at home before moving on to ...

... a beer and snacks and the most wonderful passion fruit tartlet. We sat and watched people go by and the ferries come and go. We walked back to the car via a gallery of local artist's work. We bought a picture of Balbianello, the local villa near where we are staying. The road to Como made Lisa a little unsettled and we met a ...

WE saw lots of these tiny villages on our way around, we saw large villa's, even a glimpse of where George Clooney is supposed to live. I was surprised that there wasn't more traffic on the water. No speed boats, no kayaks, no water skiers. There was really only a few ...

... meat sauce. All the pastas looked home made, thick crinkle edges pasta ribbons for the bolognese, big pillows for the ravioli. We finished the meal with 2 coffees, the whole meal came to 91 euro; one of the nicest meals we have had so far. The salmon trout was fresh from the lake, similar in size as the ones we have been feeding at the lake every time we caught a ferry. A lovely treat after out afternoon adventure.

Tomorrow's plan is to get to ...
