So here it is, after nearly 8 weeks in Oz, a summary of what I've been doing, I'll try to keep it to the interesting bits and the highlights, enjoy! No more overnight bus journeys
Mar 22, 2008 (1 photo)

After we got back from the sailing we showered and then killed some time until our Greyhound bus came to pick us up at 8.05pm. We knew that it was going to be a 11hr drive to Cairns, so we had tried to prepare ourselves for a long night. They put a film on straight away called "Benchwarmers" which at the start looked liked it was going to be re...

Whitewater rafting day!
Mar 23, 2008 (5 photos)

Got up as it was WHITEWATER RAFTING DAY!!!! We went with Foaming Fury and they picked us up from our hostel at 8.45am. We learnt that there hadn't been any rafting for the past 3 weeks due to all the rain and the river levels being too high, and they'd only opened the river up yesterday so we were really lucky. There were 23 of us rafting, bu...

We arrived in Cairns ready to meet new people and have a nice relax in cairns after the long day of travelling from bali to singapore and then onto Australia. We settled into a big and famous hostel and were put in a 8 person dorm with three Canadians and a German who had travelled up Australia together. From what we had heard from Cairns we exp...

The journey's coming to an end. We spent about 10 days in Gilligan's, a well known hostel in Cairns...the place is more like Ballymun in the sun than a hostel, tis basically a high rise concrete slab with balconys and drinking areas all over the place, like something designed by an alcoholic architect, probably one of Willy's creations. Cairn...

Howdy Pardners'!  Monday 4th February So, after arriving at the skrake of dawn and waiting it out for a while with very little sleep, we decided to try and get our bearings and have a walk around town.  Luckily, Cairns is more or less in a grid so navigating our way around the streets was pretty easy.  Got the usual ...

Just a lil note to say weyyyheyyy!  I'm at the end of my Australia trip!  1 week left then off to New Zealand.  I arrived here, in Cairns, this morning after ANOTHER shocking (but my last) Greyhound journey.  I have been quite lucky on these buses to be honest, in the sense that I always got a window seat on the over nig...

Rain Baby no more Rain!
Mar 6, 2008 (4 photos)

It's been quite a depressing couple of days here in Cairns.  It has been raining just about non-stop since we arrived on Sunday night.  This city is very boring after about a day of walking around.  We wanted to leave yesterday morning, but unfortunately we were told by Greyhound when we arrived at 6:30 am that our bus and all oth...
