      ... on my own... who knows I might meet new friends. I was at the laundry mat today and met a young traveller from New Jersey and young girl from Swizerland. They are both travelling on their own, very friendly. I wished each a safe journey as they could be our children travelling the world. We will be heading to Venice Monday morning... We saw many examples of Medieval, Roman and Renaissance architecture. Some buildings had taken 170 years to complete.       ... We started off the morning with breakfast at the hotel.

      So far in these trip reports, I have been silent on the issue of Italian hotel breakfast spreads. Make no mistake about it; their breakfast spreads are ah-mazing. They do continental breakfasts like no one else with fresh fruit, an assortment of warm pastries, cold sliced meats and cheeses, cooked eggs and bacon…I can go on ...
