Our breakfast was pretty marginal at the overnight place so we had a food stop at Fornovo. After that it was onto more ordinary busy roads for most of the day. Today Matteo & Caterina drove us to Milan for the day. We parked in the suburbs and caught the Metro in to the centre. One of the baths was beautifully tiled and it appeared you walked into the space and possibly stood rather than laid in the water. The dining table was another stand out feature along with the grand staircase. There was a series of lecture theatres and in an adjoining building accommodation for participants. We ...

... to enter the lake like a lady, rather than the rambunctious 8 year old I usually am around water. There is quite a bit of slime on the ladder, so I squeal, like a lady, and then I'm in. It's quite lovely once I get started. I swim around for about a half hour, the lie in the sun until I'm dry, since I don't have a towel. I then head to the restaurant across the street, starving. She seems reluctant to serve me, as it's after 2 but does so anyway. It may feel like ...
