Phase Three – Setting Sail
Paros
We disembarked the ferry and took in the marvelous sights of the port of Parikia – the windmill, white-washed buildings, clear blue sky. Our meeting point was the Marina Café. We used the tourist map supplied by Blue Star Ferries and info from Exas Yachts to find it. The check-in was located just behind the Marina Café and on the second ...
... close to the marina that has music coming from it. I ate a lamb dish for dinner and since the Greeks eat dinner very late in the day and will frequently make an evening of it, it wasn't until close to 11 PM that we left the taverna.
I went back to the yacht to dress in my club clothes and to go to one of the few dance clubs that remained open over the winter. Although it wasn’t packed, the club was still a lot of fun and we had a great time.
It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.

One of the most recognized landmarks on Mykonos has been their windmills. These mills were once used to refine grain and compact it for transport. A fairly strong wind year round made this a great location.
The intinerary had the Ruby departing Mykonos at 2pm so we made our way back to the tender at the marina in plenty of time to catch a lunch on board. After lunch, we chose to relax around the ...
... dishes.
After we rolled out of the restaurant, Simon the party planner and his boyfriend Dennis and I headed to Babylon and Jacki O. Fantastic gay clubs right on the water but was so windy last night. I know what you are thinking, why am I in a gay club with all these Greek and Italian Straight men around. They are so Slimy! I would not touch 90% of them with a 12 foot pole. And they are not shy, even the gay ones. This gay Persian ...
... one of the girls from the tour to 'little venice' to a famous bar there and sat on the deck and had a 'san francisco'. Bit lethal-amazingly made it back to the transfer boat and ship before it left. Had dinner on board and we were seated with this fantastic french family-was fun trying to talk to them when we both couldn't speak each other's language very well.
Mykonos, Cyclades, Greece ka.duncan... on Mykonos. Such a tough life. I would be happier if my cell phone worked. I didn't foresee a defective battery; the thing won't take or hold a charge. It won't even work when plugged into the wall. I've requested a new one that might arrive at home in time for Karen to bring it when she comes. Meanwhile, though aggravated, I remind myself that "all is well", no matter what little unforeseen circumstances arise. Tomorrow it will again be sunny, warm and relaxing.
Mykonos, Greece melissagquest... on. Moreover, one forgets about the dangers of getting into a stranger's car!! (Kids don't do what we did!). You can't say I didn't try but unfortunately our journey in the car was too short to confirm any rendezvous with cutie boy *cheek* We pretty much hit the town as soon as we arrived. We checked out the late night shopping & local club scene. Mind you, some clubs didn't open until 2am, the same time when some of the shops closed! We being the ...
Mykonos, Greece sweetmochigirl... with the hot weather meaning I wear singlet tops. ah well. I shall deal. Today we''ve been walking around the main part of town. we got some 'gyros' for lunch, which is pretty much a kebab, but almost better! only 2euros, so that was good. I think thats about all. I will try and update as often as possible, but pictures will be harder to upload I think... I cant see easy access to the usb drive on this computer... I hope everyone is ok at home! - Lisa
Mykonos, Greece lnlineuropeHow on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
