... if you only have time for one part of Germany after Berlin, that is, Munich, the capital, is the heart and soul! Munich is a city pulsing with prosperity and cosiness however sometimes also seems a city of contradictions as folklore and age old traditions exist side by side sleek BMWs and designer boutiques. Today we travelled from Salzburg to Munich with our driver, Monica. She was absolutely lovely and gave us a fantastic overall tour of Munich, after which we checked into our hotel. From there we finished up some last minute souvenir shopping before heading back to the hotel to pack up for our early morning the ...

... Totally odd. No newsagents, corner shops, nothing. So the first thing I spotted at the airport - a mini supermarket! Stocked up on lots of chocolate! We were far too early for our flight. But the airport was a tad confusing. Made it around to the area by the gate and had a right faf going through security, it was taking ages. Despite the delays yesterday and earlier in the day, we ended up leaving pretty much on time. Back to ...

... the coolest and one of the biggest fairs I've ever been to. At first I was shocked to see families and old people taking to the crowd, but once we arrived I completely understood the hype. I've never seen anything like it. Sausage and pretzel stands, fair games fresh cookies and nuts, live music, and beautiful people. We were in heaven. We walked through three "tents" (they are actually giant buildings that stay entact year round). We could not find a single place to squeeze ...
