... didn't work as there was central heating. The workmanship and detail is amazing and it took just two and a half years to build despite all materials having to be taken up the hills by donkey cart. There was an art gallery where the art was all in the stained glass windows but they were all destroyed by artillery during the war. In the square outside the church are two huge stone heads, statues of the the decapitated heads of legionaries Cassius ...

Imagine people with grocery shopping carts and now imagine them jus filled with Haribo and that is exactly how it was. I sure hope they were buying for large groups. ... spirit of the holidays. Where to first?  With bags still in hand?  Why to the Weihnachtsmarket am Koln Dom (the Christmas market located directly next to the cathedral) for a wurst, of course!  Oh, how I'd missed Germany! An hour later, we were settled into our Air B&B accommodations and back out to breathe in the cold air and bask in the glow of the Rudolphmarkt, which was located only a block away.  Well, maybe it was the gluhwein that brought ...
