... are still many columns as well as some interesting mosaics. Even with what remains, there is enough to get a good idea of what the island would have been like in its heyday. The best know sculptures on the island are a row of lions.
We anchored within the Bay of Delos and returned in the afternoon for lunch aboard. After we finished exploring the island, we boarded the yacht and returned to Mykonos for the evening. We went to shore and found a ...
... beautiful place with the village full of white-washed buildings scattered around a maze of little streets and alley ways. Just at it seemed that Santorini was made for couples, Mykonos was make for singles and the party life. This is one place that I want to return to again.
... meter's weren't running by the minute.
As is custom for us, we found a local bottleshop and purchased a local bottle of wine, with grapes grown in Greece.
We returned to the marina area and then made our way to the area of the island called "Little Venice". Here the most western part of the town meets the sea. Buildings are constructed right at the sea's edge with their balconies overhanging the ...
... the most beautiful D& G dress and it was on sale ( see I'm saving myself money!)
Sammy went out to dinner with friends she met on Contiki and I went out with the Canadian crew! After drinking in the street, we finally had dinner at 10:30 at the most amazing place, sitting in what looked like a garden underneath a canopy of flowers. The food was just to die for and I had John's Greek friend Celia, sitting next to me ordering me all these ...
On board the cruise ship 'Aquamarine' (Luis Lines). Pretty basic but way cleaner than the ferry! Not much to do here but the staff are lovely. Started off this morning with a lifeboat drill-kinda funny. Stopped off at Island of Mykonos-was amazing! All whitewashed buildings with blue shutters and cool windmills. Brought some pottery distinct to the island. Went ...
Mykonos, Cyclades, Greece ka.duncan... because we want to watch the sunset from the hills near the windmills. Then we head to dinner at the Alefkandra restaurant nearby. We're all tired and not even the girls are interested in checking out the city's famous night life. Instead, they buy some beer to enjoy on the balcomy of their room. And I head to bed, hoping to heal this cold overnight. No such speedy recovery occurred, so today I lounged around the pool while the girls headed over to Paradise ...
Mykonos, Greece melissagquestOur ferry ride to party gay central was as smooth & on schedule as our flight had been. Unfortunately, we found it difficult to flag down a taxi (due to there being a lack of) upon arrival at the port to take us to our well-chosen apartment. However, we were fortunate to have this random cute-looking local Greek guy offer us a lift in the rental car his client had returned. Of course, whenever there's a cute/hot guy about, the charm automatically ...
Mykonos, Greece sweetmochigirl... you have to put it into a little bin next to the toilet... Its not that bad, but hard to break the habit. We're going ok with our backpacks. they only weigh 14kgs each, but mine is chockers... Its horrid. I think I will have to ask my Aunty Val if I can leave some stuff to take home at her husband's place in Amsterdam, which we're going to fairly soon. The pack doesnt hurt my back so much (although I cant stand up straight) but it canes my shoulders ...
Mykonos, Greece lnlineuropeHow on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
