We are having a trip to the eastern coasts of Fuerteventura this day.
A big surprise seeing our friends Maurizio and Silvia coming to pick us up and share this day with us, to the eastern coasts of the Island of Fuerteventura.
The beaches in Costa Calma are excellent, but I feel lucky that ...
... thinking that it was a different nearby place.
This resort here was created around the original cove, because this offered a safe sheltered environment for beach activities.
Caleta is Spanish for cove and a fuste is a type of fishing boat, so this is how it got its name.
Caleta de Fuste will probably interest golf players, as there are golf courses here.

... architecture in this area reminded me of places I visited in Havana. People – I mean locals are very friendly, but don’t know much English. With the little Spanish that I know, the English and Greek, I could understand. Besides in Greek we have many identical words.
A STROLL IN THE CITY AND THE CENTRAL BEACHES
There are clouds in the sky today, and I don't feel like going swimming.
It is a day of taking photos!
The stroll is great because there is a sea breeze that makes my walk pleasant.
... to go to Oasis Park instead. We were told that this other agency is not represented by the hotel and that was the reason the receptionist did not tell us.
But it was a pity because we leave the island without this nice trip. I wanted so much to see the whole island.
A FINAL COMMENT.
We are flying with a late afternoon flight, and the hotel wants the keys at 10. I asked ...
Today was our last full day to enjoy Fuerteventura (tomorrow we leave for Lanzarote). We decided to go to the very south of the Island and enjoy the radiant sunshine. Our first stop was Morro Jable - resortville to the max. Tons of tourists combing the long sandy beaches on Christmas Day. Aside from the odd carol being played and the occasional Santa perched in the corner of a shoppe, you would find it hard to believe that it was Christmas Day. After cruising ...
Corralejo, Canary Islands, Spain and Canary Islands hvbaskeyDecember 24th, 2008 Our first full day on the island of Fuerteventura. It is spectacular - lunar type landscape with the occasional pocket oasis. Our rural casa (Casa Isaitas) is a delightful stay - I will review this little gem later on. Today we drove all over the north of the island. I will edit this entry in Lanzarote when we have more computer time.
Corralejo, Canary Islands, Spain and Canary Islands hvbaskey... The city has 30,000 inhabitants. The calle Leon y Castillo or the calle Real is the financial and commercial centre of the city. The area around the Charco de San Ginés is where the city originated when it grew around San Ginés church and it is a tranquil area to stroll around. The city's nightlife is centred around the calle José Antonio and the surrounding streets. San José Castle: This is the oldest building on the island, located in San ...
Lanzarote, Spain, Spain and Canary Islands katstravelQuite a bad nights sleep, I just couldn't get comfortable. Got up and had some breakfast thenput the bedclothes in the wash (Russ is moving out so needs to leave the bedding) then drove down to Atlantico. Did a bit of shopping then came back for some lunch. Changed into our swimmers and went over to the pool. We even got Russ to get in! After a sunbathe and a swim we got dressed and went down to Tommy's for one last burger. Had a couple of ...
Caleta de Fuste, Spain and Canary Islands nicola.hudson... we'd eaten and cleared up Russ went down to Tommys and we had a lie down, all that paddling had worn me out! Russ came back early, he'd fallen out with Gary at Tommys, swearing he'd never go in there ever again. This meant we could use the car, sovwe went into town. We went into a locoturio to use the net and phone. We were looking for flights home, to see how much they were going to cost. Everywhere we looked ...
