The weather was hot again today, around 25C. Lucy had some translations to do, so the rest of us headed to the ski lift at Czarna Góra. A few złoties for a pleasant and scenic ride on the lift and we stood near the top of Czarna with yet more beautiful scenery. Another 100m hike up a steep, rocky path and we arrived at a wooden viewpoint tower where we took some good photos and had a breather, as well as a short chat with a German ...

... were formed by the river, and the walls and floors are still wet where water is leaking through. As the guide stated at the end, it is one of the few remaining 'live caves' where the temperature is maintained just above freezing (around +6C) thereby helping the cave to continue its growth. We were obviously ...

Back to the garden...it was owned by a local man who carved the figures out as a hobby after the first world war, but was left to decay for several years. The park bought it and restored the garden to its present state. Worth a visit if you have kids. From here, ...

Szczeliniec Rocks

Today we moved east towards Stronie Sląskie, the same place we spent our holiday last year. The journey took around 3 hours along windy mountain roads and dense pine forests. At about the halfway point, we diverted slightly to visit the Góry Stołowe (Table Mountain) at Szczeliniec Wielki.

The hike climbs from Karłow up 665 steps to the highest point at 919 m above sea level. Once at the top, in order ...
